Vision is what you need to see a house that looked like this & say "That's my dream house!". That's exactly what she had - even when all her friends told her she was crazy. She could "see" what it could become.

On a cold dreary day in February the phone rang in our office. On the other end was an excited female voice. She went on to say she had just driven by a house we were renovating. It had a look that she loved. She said,"Have I got a project for you!"

A year and a half later, with all the permits in place and design work complete, the transformation began . What started out as an old inn was about to become a family summer home. Our customers live a few hours away from the beach, so we began recording everything with pictures. Every Friday we'd overnight a new roll of pictures so they could see the progress.

Living areas became porches, porches became living areas - things were taken off - areas were added on, but only within the existing footprint - the rules for the beachfront properties are very strict.

The front elevation was to be grand, yet charming & inviting. Wide stairs filled the bill.

Down the Porch to the Sea..

By the time you get to the top of the stairway, a clear view of the ocean was a breathtaking necessity.

Columns, rails, & lots of ballusters come together to set the gradiose tone of the porch. Our "porch to the sea" picture has become the famous centerfold in our brochure. This picture epitomizes the feeling we were trying to capture on the exterior.
